Virtual Health
Virtual health provides state-of-the-art audio and video technologies that allow you to connect with your provider wherever you are, whenever you need us.
What We Treat
With multiple hospitals, primary care clinics and specialty services across Illinois, we know that sometimes traveling to these services isn’t always possible for you. Virtual health can bridge these gaps and connect you to the care you need in a safe and convenient manner.
Virtual health is utilized at Carle health system by providing:
- Outpatient access to specialists, from the comfort of your local clinic.
- Inpatient specialists brought to your local healthcare site.
- Scheduled virtual visits with your healthcare providers from your home using your MyCarle account.
Inpatient Virtual Health
During your hospital stay, you could interact with a healthcare provider using video conferencing, also known as a virtual visit. Virtual visits improve access to more highly qualified providers and increase local treatment options.
Outpatient Virtual Health
We can connect you with a specialist at many of our clinic locations via our state-of-the-art audio and video technology equipment. Our providers can help perform all the typical assessments – examining eyes, ears, and lungs, as well as listening to hearts – with the assistance of a local medical assistant or registered nurse and some very specialized telemedicine medical devices.
We currently offer virtual health services in several different specialty areas, and we are constantly evaluating other specialties to add to this list. Services may include, but are not limited to:
- Behavioral Health
- Developmental Pediatrics
- Endocrinology
- Infectious Disease
- Maternal-Fetal Medicine
- Neurology
- Nutrition Services
- Palliative Care
- Pulmonology
- Sleep Studies
- Rheumatology
My Virtual Visit
Virtual visits allow you to see and hear your Carle provider from anywhere. These can now be conducted directly through your MyCarle account.
When scheduling your next appointment, your provider’s office may suggest a virtual visit. Virtual visits are covered by many insurance providers and are subject to a co-payment.
