At Carle Health, when your child is ill or injured you can count on us to make your child our first priority. Our pediatric care teams combine compassion and expertise to evaluate, diagnose and treat children and adolescent patients through individualized care.
What We Treat
While all Carle Health Emergency Departments are ready and able to treat your children in emergencies, several locations are Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP). EDAP hospitals have shown their dedication to providing emergency care for children by having trained staff, specialized equipment, and protocols in place for pediatric emergencies.
Our EDAP Hospitals include:

- Carle Foundation Hospital
- Carle Health Methodist Hospital
- Carle Health Pekin Hospital
- Carle Health Proctor Hospital
At Carle Foundation Hospital, patients also have the added security of being treated by one of only three hospitals outside of the Chicagoland area to be approved as a Pediatric Critical Care Center (PCCC). CFH received this designation, after meeting rigorous quality metrics and showing its strength in caring for and meeting the unique needs of our youngest patients. If you need care from one of our Critical Access Hospitals, we make sure staff at each location has 24/7 access to call or video conference with our pediatric specialists. So no matter what, your child is getting expert care at all of our locations.
