Midwifery
Carle offers one of the largest midwifery programs outside of Chicago. With more than 50 years of combined experience, our certified nurse-midwives offer you a safe, satisfying family-centered childbirth based on a philosophy of total physical and mental wellness in which birth is a natural event. For women with low-risk pregnancies, nurse midwifery provides sensitive, personal care in a hospital setting by highly skilled healthcare professionals who have degrees in nursing and nurse-midwifery.
What We Treat
Carle nurse midwives guide you through pregnancy, work with you through labor and childbirth and care for you after delivery. We are specially trained in labor support, and patients can choose from a variety of coping methods during labor and delivery. We also work closely with women throughout their reproductive years.
We also provide women's healthcare education and preventive health care exams for annual check-ups, planning a pregnancy, contraception and care for infections. They are supported by our obstetricians and perinatologist.
